Social Interaction:
Social Interaction is any type of the communication that
occurs between people. This includes everything from greetings like (Hi, Hello,
Aslam-o-Alikum etc.) a neighbor with a gesture to intensive communication like
for example (Negotiation, debate and public speaking. The following are common
examples in Social Interaction.
Class discussion:
Some times as a student I participate in class discussion
with my class-fellows and my respectable Teacher, I gave my opinion with shape
of Presentation with (specific slide’s bullet-points, elaborate my point with specific
facts, figures, gestures and some time, I communicate with particular people
extremely to my view-point.
Brainstorming:
Brainstorming is a group activity where everyone comes
together to discuss Plan for growth and improvement, exchange your ideas, share
any information and use this discussion as informal catch-up session for you and
your classmates.
Status and Role:
Status is our relative social (level) position within a
specific group, society. Ascribed (attributed)status which is include (sex, race and
age). Children usually have more ascribes status than adults, in some specific
choice in most of the matters. For Example, (Ascribed status) Race: Your race is a
genetically defined feature. It is generally identifiable by your skin color, but also
other features such as eye color. Common races include black and Asian. Societies
have historically created social hierarchies based on race.
A Role is set of norms, values, behaviors and personality characteristics
attached to a status. Any individual person may occupy the statuses in the shape of
any profession play one or more roles in society (Role: Classroom: attending class,
taking notes and discussing with the teacher).
Status set:
A status set is a collection of social statuses that an
individual hold. Any-woman/girl plays role in the shape of (wife, mother,
daughter, nurse etc. at the same time and these would be her status set. (Race,
gender, religion, profession, culture etc.) Can be factors that determine the statuses
to be assigned to an individual these determine how that person is combined into
society.
For example: if someone is a doctor by profession, he would have achieved
statuses comprising of colleague, superior, patient, nurses and so on through own
education, knowledge and experience. These status sets fluctuate according to the
surroundings yet some sets within a certain geographical location remain the same
such as citizen etc.Master Status:
In Sociology, the master status is the social place that is the essential
recognizing normal for a person. The term master status is defining as "a status that
has excellent importance for social personality, often shaping an individual's whole
life." Master status can be credited or accomplished.
For Example:
There is different example of master situations with the world. These are
orientation, sexual direction, actual capacity, economy.
Role Conflict:
Role conflict happens when there are contradictory requests put upon an
individual connecting with their work or position. Individuals experience role
conflicts when they wind up pulled in different bearings as they attempt to answer
the numerous situations with hold.
For Example:
Somebody who should be far off in one job might struggle with another job
where they should show warmth.Role Strain
In sociology, role strain happens when an individual has a day to day
existence job to satisfy that requires testing conduct, has unreasonable
assumptions, or is overpowering in another way.
For Example:
Somebody assuming the jobs of parent, chief, guardian, and writer might
encounter role strain on the grounds that these jobs joined may take up more time
and assets than that individual has or expect that individual to all the while be in
various spots.
Role Exist:
Role exist refers to a process by which dis-engagement from one important
role. The process of dis-engagement from a role that a central to one’s self identity.
In simple words, it is conversion of one individual into new role from previous
one.
For Example:
A woman getting divorce from her husband to leave the status of wife.
Another example is, when an individual becomes a parent and has to change their
lifestyle.
Cooperation:
The basic form of human association is cooperation. It is process by which
people help each other to meet a common end is called as cooperation. The
network of society is based on cooperation and it is the basic necessity of life. No
society can develop its social organization and social system without cooperation.For Example:
Customer cooperation with shopkeeper, teacher cooperation with student
etc.
Competition:
Striving of two or more persons for the same good which is limited so that
all cannot share.
A competition where only one person can win the prize or achieve the goal
is called absolute competition. For example, president, prime minister, cricket
team captain etc.
A competition where more than one person can win a prize or achieve the
goal is called relative competition. For example, wealth prestige, 3 posts of
lecturers in a department etc.
Personal Competition:
This competition is based on personal reasons. People strive to defeat their
rival like in courts people go through this competition and for person reasons they
spend a lot of time and money to defeat their opponent. In this competition
personal interest is involved.
Impersonal Competition:This competition involves collective interest of people rather than personal
interest.
For Example:
Members of unions protest against administration because of collective
interest like bonus or other rights.
