I will try to mention my Marxist reading/ analysis of the following ad with details and relevant examples at the upcoming part:
Advertisement Description:
The advertisement showcases a high-end luxury watch. It features a glamorous lifestyle, with scenes of opulent parties, extravagant travel, and exclusive events. The watch is prominently displayed as a symbol of affluence and success. A young girl/ woman is represented by her clothes, style of walking, speaking, etc. the more luxurious lifestyle and mindset
Marxist Analysis:
1. Commodification of Luxury:
The luxury watch is not just a timekeeping device but a commodity that symbolizes social status and wealth. Furthermore, through a Marxist context, the advertisement contributes to the commodification of goods, where the value of the watch extends beyond its functional purpose to become a marker of class distinction.
2. Class Representation:
The characters in the advertisement are portrayed as affluent and elite. The lifestyle depicted is aspirational and implies a particular social class. From a Marxist perspective, this reinforces class divisions by presenting the possession of the luxury watch as a marker of belonging to an exclusive, privileged class. However, A young girl is represented by her clothes, style of walking, speaking, etc. the more luxurious lifestyle and mindset, Maybe, I feel that all this wealth is her life, but it seems that all this is not enough for her, she wants more luxurious lifestyle and wealth as well.
3. Exploitation and Labor:
The advertisement typically neglects the labor that goes into producing the luxury watch. Because Marxist analysis would question the conditions under which the watch is manufactured, considering the labor exploitation that might occur in the production process. The focus on the end product conceals the often harsh realities of the labor behind it. Moreover, A lot of resources, money, wealth, and lifestyle have been removed from their reach, they can't even think about buying and acquiring all of this as well.

4. False Consciousness:
The advertisement contributes to false consciousness by associating the luxury watch with personal success and fulfillment. From a Marxist standpoint, this creates a distorted perception of (reality, diverting attention from the systemic issues of inequality and exploitation), etc. In addition, consumers may believe that owning such a luxury item is the key to genuine happiness and social recognition.
5. Cultural Hegemony:
The advertisement participates in the maintenance of cultural hegemony by promoting a specific lifestyle as the ideal. The values and aspirations depicted align with the dominant ideology of consumer capitalism but I think this is something else want to cultural death of the world because a luxurious lifestyle and money do not get rid of people's hearts and mind. In a Marxist interpretation, this reinforces the existing power structures by shaping societal norms and expectations.
Conclusion:
To sum up my point, In this Marxist analysis, the luxury watch advertisement is seen as a cultural product that contributes to the perpetuation of class distinctions, labor exploitation, and false consciousness. Furthermore, the focus on the symbolic value of the watch masks the economic relations and inequalities inherent in the production and consumption of such luxury goods.
