   Report of the Previous Day’s event

Guest Speaker:  Risham Waseem, an official belongs from (IRC)

is a digital content creator, documentary filmmaker, and human rights activist based in Lahore, Pakistan, She is the director of Maati TV.

Description of the Event:

Session about Digital Story telling through short films, plays, short videos and documentaries, etc,

The Session was moderated by Sir (Mr. Nohaiz Mehmood). The guest Speaker Ms.Risham Waseem, was addressed about the digital story-telling, internal conspiracies and through some videos, she told about minorities’s right, minorities as Pakistani citizens, How they serve and live successful stories, their language and Society behavior with those people as well. I will try to explore topics, details about those videos at Next Part:

1.      Story about (Mr. Diyal Singh, Diyal Singh College) and his Excellent Performance for minorities and Pakistani Students as well

2.      Story about (Martin Pur & Christian Boys High School) their people who lives in that village and around way to listen their stories in different languages, life and their background).

3.      Story of (Mr. Manohar Lal, his daughters, his and both of his daughter’s successful life story, struggle and society behavior with them).

4.      Story about (Hazrat Mian Meer, his life story, tomb, association with Hindh’s Elders and Sikhs, and background stories What thing and motivation that Why Hindu’s (Pro-Guru) force him to that (Hazrat Mian Meer) basically done the foundation stone of Hindu’s Original/real, Golden Temple) and why Sikh’s came to his tomb for their own legitimacy, pilgrimage after the Cartarpur Gurduwara, Nankana Sahib, and many other Gurduwara’s in Nankana Sahb, Kasur and many other cities in  Pakistan.

After the videos, She asked many Questions about these videos, and took our opinions, reviews about these videos, Minorities' rights, language, Society behavior, and also their life in Pakistan.

Furthermore, many time discussions on many topics, but time was limited because after that we want to attend another class. At the end the organizer & and moderator Sir (Mr. Nohaiz Mehmood (Faculty Industry Liaison Officer & Lecturer, FoLL) presented the appreciation shield to the respectable guest Speaker and then we take some pictures with our organizer, guest speaker, and Students of my class.

The main purpose of this event, that analysis of digital storytelling according to Bilingualism’s perspectives I want to learn about digital storytelling, and describe the concepts of Bilingualism and monolingualism from those videos. I will mention my concept that I perceive analysis from those videos that I (describe the details already) at the upcoming Part:

Monolingualism: Which is we speak only One Language

So far I have understood, we have been successful to describe monolingualism just from 2 videos that (made in the shape of documentaries)

1-         Story of the Diyal Singh and their work

2-         Story of the (Manohar Lal Hindu) Pakistani citizen and their story

In both of the Stories, which is the people try to describe their stories and also express own thought in just a single language.

Bilingualism: Which is We try to speak 1 to more than 2 or three languages

So far I have understood, from where a previous day’s event we watch some videos related to digital story telling but I achieve the goal of describe the bilingualism from just 2 videos

2-         Story of the Mian Meer and their tomb

The video which is people trying to describe their own story in both videos at the same time uses two languages with different topics, perspectives and events, etc.

In both of (those videos which is I perceive the concept of Bilingualism) which is when Some people speak just in Punjabi then other people use and express their stories & thoughts in Urdu Language.
