Comparison between London 1802 by William Wordsworth and London by William Blake

After the reading and analysis of the poem “Ode To Autumn” by john Keats, Solve these 2 questions (How does the poem “Ode To Autumn” represent john Keats as a talented poet? How skilfully or intelligently has he achieved his perpose as a romantic poet?)

While both Blake and Wordsworth comment on conflict between appearance and reality, But Blake shows gloomy and ugliness by taking down London’s streets. William Wordsworth’s composed upon Westminster Bridge’ reveals the beauty of London from upriver. Their poems symbolize British royalty and politics. Wordsworth through writing in poem (London) call and cry to (John Milton) to help for given situation of London in Wordsworth’s time, Wordsworth describes a reality of English people are’ selfish and Wordsworth anger on all mankind for destroying nature (that means Wordsworth’s memories connected with nature). He is pleading to Milton asking for a resurrection of the good old England with the return of ‘manners, virtue, freedom and power. Wordsworth directly refers to Milton for the power of God attributes. Blake in poem (London), Blake strongly revolted against the corruptions, malpractices of English society. The poem has faithfully portrayed the apathy, weariness, pessimism, corruption of London society, it is also sexually debased and contaminated.  Blake has a widely negative view of what it’s like to live and work in London. Blake was distraught over the issue until he was finally acquitted. It is not surprising that he should revile such a strict government.

Both Milton and Wordsworth are criticizing the British society, that the people of the society are becoming more and more selfish as they are moving towards modernization. They both are saying that the society is losing its connection with nature. William Blake is saying that the society is using children as labors and the sacrifices that their nation’s soldiers are giving no body is paying attention or paying respect to that. Whereas, Wordsworth is saying the similar thing that British society have lost there manners, virtues, freedom, and power but he is asking Milton for help. Wordsworth is saying Milton is the one who can provide light in the darkness of which the society is moving towards. The time when Wordsworth wrote London 1802, Milton was dead but Wordsworth is asking that is there a way that Milton can come back to life and show these selfish people the right path which connects man with nature. Wordsworth is comparing Milton with star and seas because in Wordsworth opinion Milton possessed Godly traits and he believes that he (Milton) is the right man to kind of lead British society. He is saying that Milton’s soul was full of cheerful godliness that at the lowest of times he still managed to shine bright and he end the poem by saying that Milton had the power to do good or bad but he never used his powers to do negative things unlike the British society.

How does the poem “Ode To Autumn” represent john Keats as a talented poet?

First of all, “Ode To Autumn” themes which is (death, beauty, spring and winter). Many romantic poets writes and tells about spring season but John Keats one of the famous poet who just  write about Autumn and tell about the “Autumn”  with new and better way because his previous  life full of sadness. In this poem, poet tells with autumn maybe same like he talking with any other person. After sometime, Keats feels that (Autumn and son are friends). These two are such strong friends that they make conspiracies together and decides   how to grow the crops and how to grow and cook the crops. When the fruits are ripe, the seeds fall then how to spring season will come?  After that poet Keats said (Bees think that the summer season will last the whole year but they are wrong).  Furthermore, poet said about the harvesting the crops and again tell about Summer season is very compelling because the autumn fall seeds and summer will come, “Autumn is the leader of summer, Spring’s music is distant music because spring’s season  is not far away. Keats likes Autumn (Autumn music is cool and better) which is Autumn music has images of clouds and fields, A glimpse of the mussels flying in the rivers was found in the music of autumn, Birds and lambs jumping can also be heard, these all something feel me in autumn because the temperature has grow in autumn.

According to this poetic work on Autumn with new way, describe it’s functions and relate for music with many things, I thing this poetic work and description of spring and autumn season in (Ode To Autumn), through these some purpose and I think  Keats is a talented poet.

How skillfully or intelligently has he achieved his purpose as a romantic poet?

Romantic poetry is all about the revolt and coming back to nature because of the modernization, and john Keats in his poem ‘To Autumn’ is talking about the season autumn which relates with nature. All the Romantic poets wrote about the idea of coming back to nature and Keats did a very great job being a romantic poet at very young age, he basically did what all the other romantic poets tried to do there whole lives which is writing poetry he did that in just 26 years. The characteristics in Keats poetry are he writes poetry for the sake of poetry, and he loved nature for the sake of nature, and he tried to use as simple language as he could in his writings. He is known as the pure writer. In his poem he is appreciating the season autumn and he mentions that autumn is the better season as Compared with spring. He says the falling of the leaves and the singing of the beautiful birds of autumn is a very enjoyable season. He is saying that this time of the year is the best time in the whole year. I would say that in my opinion he’s is a very talented poet because of his young age. Despite being young his poetry is very popular among the Romantic poets. I think by using all his talent and skills he achieved his purpose quite successfully as a romantic poet.
